Qualifications for Position:
- Some experience in carpentry/painting with a basic knowledge of building structure and tools of the trade.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Leadership and organizational skills with the ability to relate to others in a cooperative and courteous manner.
- Physical requirements
- Able to lift 30 lbs on a regular basis
- Able to stoop and bend
- Able to stand for extended periods
- No allergies to paints, glues, etc.
- Be able to work on ladders
- Able to navigate uneven terrain.
- Be able to distinguish between colors and have sufficient hearing to work safely and cooperatively.
Expected Duties and Responsibilities:
- To work with and assist the Building Maintenance Technicians in their daily duties.
- Consider the other staff, faculty, and residents we serve by practicing cleanliness and orderliness in all work areas.
- Observe needed repairs/damages across campus and report them utilizing the Maintenance Direct work request system.
- Be able to work with other shops including plumbing, HVAC, electrical and mechanical when needed.
- Responsible to follow instructions and seek clarification when needed.
- Adhere to all safety practices and training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
